Understanding Surabaya’s Workplace Culture

Surabaya is a hub of emerging business sectors, from technology startups to multinational offices in Tunjungan Plaza and Graha Famili. The city’s workforce values flexibility, collaboration, and comfort, with hybrid work and co-working spaces on the rise. Office design here must respond to tropical conditions, integrating natural ventilation, shaded outdoor spaces, and biophilic elements that improve wellbeing.

Designing Experiences, Not Just Spaces

Modern office interior design transforms workplaces into experience-driven environments. At our firm, we approach each project with the goal of creating spaces where employees feel motivated, connected, and inspired. Key strategies include:

• Spatial Zoning & Activity-Based Work (ABW): Tailored areas for focus, collaboration, and informal interactions optimize productivity and engagement.

• Collaboration Hubs & Social Spaces: Flexible lounges, breakout rooms, and café-style areas encourage creativity and teamwork.

• Wellness Integration: Biophilic design, natural light, and ergonomic furniture support mental clarity, reduce fatigue, and improve retention.

• Technology & Smart Systems: Seamless tech integration enhances connectivity, supports hybrid work, and allows data-driven space utilization.

Tailored Approaches for Different Office Typologies

Every workplace has unique needs:

• Corporate Headquarters: Brand-driven interiors with premium finishes and efficient circulation support high-performing teams.

• Co-Working & Shared Offices: Modular layouts and flexible furniture cater to dynamic and multi-tenant environments.

• Startup & Creative Offices: Open plans, vibrant textures, and inspiring visual narratives encourage innovation.

• Enterprise Workspaces: Scalable designs integrate collaboration zones, private offices, and wellness areas while optimizing operational workflows.
